Our final Reconstruction of Vampire Weekend- Cousins

Location

We've decided on this location near Whitefriargate, Hull. It is a quite area to film and is a similar setting to the original video. 

We've decided to film on Monday the 16th June, as that's when my group and our cast are available. We've checked the weather forecast to make sure it won't be too sunny or rainy.

Our chosen video

Our chosen video is Cousins by Vampire Weekend. We have chosen to do this because we feel it will be easy but effective to replicate.

Potential vidoes

We got into groups and narrowed our music video ideas down to 3.
They are:

Marina and the Diamonds- Primadonna

Pros

• Not a large cast
• Location would be easy to replicate
• Props are things such as TV, bed, piano etc - things we would have access to
• Visually effective video with lip syncing

Cons

• lots of different outfits and hairstyles
• Might not be able to get exactly the same props (old style TV might have to be a modern TV, Grand piano might have to be a different style of Piano, bed may have to be a different style)
• Some effects used in the video may be hard to replicate
• wouldn't be able to film it at college

Vampire Weekend- Cousins

Pros

• Location is accessible (could be filmed in town or maybe college)
• Cast is 4 males (not too large)
• all props used are fairly accessible
• would be fairly simple to film (only one location, no major costume changes)
• Costume is easy to replicate

Cons

• Wouldn't be able to replicate the large track in the middle (would need to use a trolly/swivel chair to get a similar affect)
• Would need to get hold of instruments such as drum kit and guitars

Mystery Jets- Young Love

Pros

• Props aren't too difficult to get hold of
• No change in location
• costume is simple

Cons

• Location is obscure (need large white floor)
• Drum kit, amp etc needed
• white hygiene outfits and masks needed
• need to do an arial camera angle some how
